Hilliard Studio

Production and assembly of each Hilliard Lamp is done on-site in our studio and foundry located on the northern coast of California's Redwood Empire.

In the Hilliard Studio we use our own custom made glass tiles which are then arranged and soldered into various woven patterns. We also produce heat formed art glass to create our slumped glass lamps.

Every lamp is supported by a framework of solid cast bronze, which is cast in our own
art bronze foundry using traditional
sand casting techniques.

This time-consuming technique is used because solder will not adhere to glass on its own.

Each glass tile is copper wrapped and soldered into place creating a variety of unique patterns.
