Enhancing Architectural Design with Handcrafted Designer Lighting Fixtures & Mirrors

Expanding Perspective with Lighting Design and Mirrors

As luxury lighting fixture experts, it’s important to provide our designers with new and creative ways to elevate interior design clients’ spaces. One often overlooked aspect of design that can make a huge impact is lighting. Not only can lighting enhance the ambiance of a space, but it can also be used to expand your perspective of a room. When combined with mirrors, lighting can create a sense of depth and space that can transform even the smallest of rooms into a luxurious and inviting space.

As an architectural lighting design expert, Hilliard Lamps has seen firsthand the impact that lighting and mirrors can have on a space. When used correctly, they can make a room feel larger, brighter, and more open. In this post, we will explore tips and ideas for using lighting and mirrors in your design projects, as well as showcase some of our handcrafted lamps, designer lighting fixtures, and elegant pendant lights, such as our Freya and Pono Mirror Lights, all of which can help you achieve your desired lighting design and change the entire perspective of a room.

Using lighting and mirrors in your design projects

Use mirrors to reflect natural light. Placing a mirror opposite a window can help reflect natural light into a room, making it feel brighter and more open.

By combining different types of lighting, such as ambient, task, and accent lighting, you can create a sense of depth and dimension in a space. This can be enhanced further by adding mirrors to reflect the light and create interesting patterns and shapes.

Use mirrors to create focal points

Mirrors can be used to draw attention to a specific area of a room, such as a piece of artwork or a statement piece of furniture. By reflecting the light and the focal point, the mirror can help emphasize its importance in the space.

Play with shapes and sizes

Using mirrors of different shapes and sizes can create a visually interesting display while also reflecting and enhancing the light in the space.

Hilliard understands the importance of using high-quality materials and craftsmanship to create unique and bespoke lamps that can help elevate your design projects. Our Freya and Pono Mirror Lights are just a few examples of how we combine elegant design with functional lighting to create a statement piece in any room.
